How to Identify Your
VIN AND HIN

The vehicle identification number (VIN) on motorcycles, ATVs, MULE™ and Teryx® side x sides or hull identification number (HIN) on personal watercraft is unique to each unit. No two are alike.

VINs have 17 digits. They look like this: JKAVFKA16VB508039.

HINs have 12 digits. They look like this: US-KAW46436J697.

Each Kawasaki product line has a distinct VIN location. The exact location for these numbers on your particular model is illustrated in your owner’s manual near the front of the book. They also appear on your registration documents.

Motorcycles

You will find the VIN stamped on the steering head, below the handlebars.

All-Terrain Vehicles

The VIN can be found on the left front frame rail behind the wheel.

JET SKI® watercraft

The HIN can be found at the right rear of the re-boarding platform on all multi-passenger Jet Ski® watercraft; and on the right rear outside of the hull on the JS800 stand-up model.

Teryx® side x side

Look for the VIN on the right front frame rail behind the wheel.

MULE™ side x side

For most late-model Mule™ side x side, the VIN is located on the forward frame rail below the seat. For all Trans4X4® models, the VIN is on the left rear driver seat frame rail, and Mule™ 600/610 4X4 models have it on the frame rail below the seat over the fuel tank. On most older Mule models, the VIN is near the front of the vehicle.
